WHO we are?

The Amateur’s Code

Originally written by Paul M. Segal, W9EEA, in 1928, the Amateur’s Code remains a timeless guide for operators who value both the art and the responsibility of radio communication.
CONSIDERATE. The radio amateur operates with respect for others, never knowingly using the airwaves in a way that disrupts or diminishes another operator’s experience.
LOYAL. They support fellow operators, local clubs, and the broader amateur radio community, recognizing that together we keep the hobby strong and growing.
PROGRESSIVE. They continue to learn, experiment, and improve—keeping pace with advancements in technology while maintaining a well-built and responsibly operated station.
FRIENDLY. They are patient, welcoming, and willing to help—offering guidance to newcomers and fostering a spirit of cooperation and goodwill on the air.
BALANCED. They understand that amateur radio is a passion, but not at the expense of family, work, school, or community responsibilities.
PATRIOTIC. They stand ready to serve, using their skills and station to support their community and country, especially in times when communication matters most.

“We are ambassadors of the airwaves.”

— Bob Heil
